2007 - PTS Co Trip To Pangkor Island - Part 2

After lunch, we made our first entrance to our rooms.
Rest for a while, we all changed to get ready for our next activity - Island Hopping.

While waiting for the rest of the group, some of us chit chat, joked and laughed.

To our surprise, we saw some hornbills flying near to the stalls area.
There's a sign board stating the hornbills' feeding time.

Some general info about hornbills:

Hornbills are largely found in Sarawak (state of my hometown, Kuching), which is nicknamed "the land of the hornbills".

Hornbills can be considered as the national bird for this amazing state.

We boarded 3 speed boats and off we went..islands by islands.

The speed boat drivers show us some amazing natural beauties.

If not mistaken, the drivers shown us a rock-formed turtle.

When we reached the snokerling zone, most of my colleagues were so daring that they jumped into the water and played around.
Unfortunately, I was too timid to jump into the water..this was all blamed to those scary movies I watched..thinking there might be some creatures like jaws or some kind of man-eating sea creatures hiding in the water.

I just stayed in the speed boat..looking and laughing around..amiring my colleagues who were in the clear water..

I told myself, if my darling was here with me, sure I would dive into the water as I knew he would hold me tight, am I right darling?

Something funny here:
Our receptionist cum admin clerk, Fydah, she followed our accountants, Juliana, into the water.
When she wanted to get out of the water, she couldn't.
All of those on the speed boat tried so hard to pull her up, but failed.
Her white pants brushed against the side of the speed boat.
When she finally got to climb onto the speed boat, her whole pants was in blue.
U know where the blue color came from?
Yes, from the side of the boat.

My colleagues played volleyballs on the sandy beach.
After that, they had a water polo game in the swimming pool..
They even had a "Monkey Catches The Ball" game despite their age..hehe..
Where was I? I was, of course, in the room..taking bath..waiting for dinner. :P

Our dinner for that first nite was buffet style.
Tasty!!

Day 1 and 2 nite life events:
Here came the unhealthy nite life!!
For those good gals and good boys out there, please don't follow ya. ;)
Drinking, smoking, gambling..all the don'ts..!!

Day 2 morning event: Seminar

Something healthy on the morning session of second day.
There was a competition among IGTS, TIA and YellowFin team.
The presentor, who gave the best performance, would get a prize of rm300.

We slowly filled up the meeting room.
We stayed awake for the opening speech..

Moving tables and chairs to make like a classrom style seminar.

Main Judges (L-R): Eric (CEO), Damian (CFO), William (COO)

Besides the main judges, there were 3 in a group judges from each team.
I was one of them from TIA team, alongside Jason and Uncle Jay.

Presentor #1: IGTS team (Agnes, Sham, Kar Wai, Kevin Wu). They did a great job by having a short acting scenario..

Presentor #2: TIA team (Chris).

Presentor #3: YellowFin team (Kevin Aw).

A fair competition.

Presentators shaking hands with each other.

In the end, IGTS team won the competition.
Congrates!!

After this, we had our buffet lunch.

For afternoon session, my colleagues enjoyed riding banana boats..wat else??

I didn't get to join the game as I was frightened by Jason as he told me when we ride on a banana boat, the driver of the speed boat, which pulled the banana boat, would make our banana boat turn over in the mid of sea.

I chose to stay in hotel. :(

We had bbq for dinner.

During dinner time, I asked my colleagues abt the banana boat ride.

They said it was fun and the speed boat driver didn't turn their banana boat over as this was upon request.

Aiks!! I instantly knew that I missed a banana boat ride which I nvr had b4..

After dinner, we walked out of the resorts to nearby local nite market.

There were a lot of stalls and shops that sell seafood, accessories etc.

I bought some dried spicy fish and junk food.

On 3rd day, after breakfast, we packed and got ready to head back to KL Sentral.

Same thing, we took a ferry back to the jetty.

Due to the bus driver's bad driving skills, this time, we took revenge.

We let him wait for us while we went shopping.

Back to KL sentral, I saw my darling already waiting for me.

I hopped down the bus and walked towards his car.

Off we went home.

Uncle Jay also went home once out of the bus.

The rest of my colleagues had a few family photos.

I miss that one..:(

2007 - PTS Co Trip To Pangkor Island - Part 1

I have never been to Pangkor Island before.
I'm quite excited about this trip.
For a 3 days 2 nites trip (14th, 15th and 16th of Dec 2007), my darling would be left alone at home..he was :(
But I was :) as I got to have fun around the island.

Early Saturday morning, as early as b4 the sky was bright, we had been waiting at KL Sentral for our bus.
The bus delayed till 7 or 8 sth only reached...quite pissed off tho!!
When the bus finally reached, most of my colleagues one by one put their bags into the luggage area.
I brought my bag into the bus as I was sitting all alone..hehe..there was space for my bag.
1 movie was played on the way to the jetty..hhhmmm...someone obviously forgot to bring CDs..
The bus driver was kind of sucks!!
He drove so fast and even "cut" and horned the slower cars in front.
He didnt even bother to stop when the bus was going over road humps.
We were all "jumping" around inside the bus.

We stopped by 2 perhentian(s) to have a rest and "release" --> u know wat I mean ya..;)..TOILET obviously
I bought some fruits to eat and a packet of Twisties..
On the way to jetty, I alone finished up the whole packet..wow!!

Finally, we reached the jetty. Some of us went to toilet, some shopping (buying local products).. Sharine and I just sat there chit chatting while waiting for ferry.
Ferry return tics were passed to us and was to be kept tight.

Waited for nearly half an hr (I guess), we boarded a ferry.
I couldn't rmbr the last time I was on a ferry. The ferry was packed with passengers and luggage.

The scenery around was serene and peaceful.
We could see the wooden houses built near the beach.
Fishing is the sole income for the villagers.

We reached Pangkor Island jetty.
There were a lot of vans waiting for tourists.
Their responsibilities were either to drive all the tourists around the island or to their hotels/resorts.

We stayed at Puteri Bayu Beach Resort.
Take a look of the resort: http://www.puteribayu.com/home.html
The services provided by the resort was just average.
Anyway, it is good enough to relax.

The first thing we did upon reaching the resort was to have lunch.
Uncle Jay ate too much of mutton and eventually did not join us for island hoping..one of our afternoon session activity.

Each of us get to share a challet with one person.
Sharine and I were arranged to share the challet.

.....Stay tune for our activities session ;) .....
